Choosing a new tip for your pool cue is easy if you know your style of playing and what you would like your new cue tip to do for you. A couple things you should to in helping you find a new tip for your pool cue.
1. Measure the tip of your pool cue at the end if the shaft where the farrel meets the tip. Most tips come in multiple sizes for you to choose from. These sizes range from 12mm, 13mm, 14mm.
2. So not only do pool cue tips come in different sizes but they come in different density like, Soft, Medium, Medium-Hard, Hard.
A. Soft tips will give you the ability to get more spin on the cue ball but need to be constantly maintained because they are soft. They will need to be shaped and may mushroom but easily fixed with the right tools. Soft tips generally hold chalk very well and less likley to cause a miss cue.
B. Medium tips tend to be simmilarto a soft tip but tend not to mushroom as easily and hold chalk very well. These tips will also give you excellent ball spin and control.
C. Medium-Hard pool cue tips are a great solution give you a little less spin on the cue ball but holds chalk well and tends to last longer than the soft and medium density pool cue tips.
D. Hard tips are generally used for a break cues, jump pool cues and needs to be chalked constantly and also made need a tip pik tool to get it to hold chalk so that your pool cue tip wont slip off the ball and cause a miss cue.
